Our completed projects include “PadCraft,” which trained five women and a trainee to create safe, reusable pads, promoting menstrual hygiene and economic independence. Additionally, the “Rap Song” initiative collaborated with Sindhi Chokkri to produce a rap in local languages, using music to challenge stigma and connect with diverse communities.
Our ongoing projects are making significant strides in menstrual health and advocacy. The “Gwadar Mahwari Solidarity” project addresses menstrual hygiene needs in flood-affected areas by distributing emergency kits. “Period Proud” provides essential education and support through engaging sessions, while the “Period Positive Fundraiser” combines art with activism to champion menstrual equity. Lastly, our “Pink Tax” initiative focuses on eliminating the luxury tax on menstrual products to combat period poverty.
Chandu and the Crimson Quest: Breaking Stereotypes and Shattering Silence on Periods
“Chandu and the Crimson Quest” tells the inspiring story of a young girl from Thar on a journey to challenge stereotypes and foster open conversations about menstruation. Translated into Urdu, Sindhi, and English, this groundbreaking period-positive superhero comic book, produced in collaboration with the US Mission in Pakistan and the US Alumni Network under Project Awareness for Gender Equality, enhances its impact and extends its message of empowerment and education across communities. Since its launch, it has been instrumental in advancing Mahwari Justice’s mission to build a more informed, supportive, and inclusive society.
